The Great Dangling
This game was made in three days for the [Ludum Dare 56 game jam](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/the-great-dangling) (please head over there if you have an account to rate it ;)
Those are the fixes that were added AFTER the Jam:
- Reset the "flashing target" when losing on a spike
- Display a nice message when losing by "slinging" tiny creatures off screen (it wasn't clear before that what happened)
- Reset the proper time scale of the game that would sometimes stay in slow mo after getting spiked several times in a row
- Fix the finger collision shape and offset to the viewport (it wasn't properly set up so sometimes it would feel like it wouldn't click)
- Fix display of "you win" and "you lose" labels
- Random levels now won't spawn creatures/rocks/spikes on top of each other, or on top of the UI buttons or on the thumbtack
- Fix the flashing of the finger when creating a random level, resulting in the finger being spiked spuriously
- Restart the level instead of generating a new one when pricked in a random level
IF YOU ARE STUCK ON A LEVEL, PRESS "R" TO RESTART IT.
HOW TO PLAY: bring the last dangling tiny creature under your thumb to the next flashing target. Grow the dangle, get to the wine bottle!
The logic (not very logical, not very helpful to playing the game, you can skip this part):
You want to bring all the tiny creatures to their craving target:
- blood drop -> bandaid
- mosquito -> arm
- spider -> web
- frog -> lilypad
- frenchie -> wine
How can you bring them to their target? By attracting them with something else they love!
- mosquito -> blood drop
- spider -> mosquito
- frog -> spider
- frenchie -> frog
The gameplay is building a chain of tiny creatures, and "grabbing" the next tiny creature (or its craving) using the last element in the dangling chain.
So the end result is a long chain in this order:
- thumb
- blood drop
- bandaid
- mosquito
- arm
- spider
- web
- frog
- lilypad
- frenchie
- wine
You'll find that it may be difficult because some pesky (very cute) rocks are laying in the way (or are they helping?).
If you ever shoot a target too fast, it may fly off the screen, and you'll have to restart the level!
If you see a flashy red spiky thing, BEWARE.
The game is played with the mouse, moving the mouse (thumb) around to "grab" the tiny creatures.
Keyboard shortcuts: "r" to restart the level, "esc" to go back to the main menu.

A very cool game! I thought it was pretty simple until I got lost in the infinity of random levels xD
I managed to finish one where the nightmare level was 8. Then, thanks to a bug in my mouse that went to my second screen, I miraculously managed to finish one at level 10!
And 10/10 for the audio, which made me laugh a lot :D
In short, I recommend it!
This game is really really cool and funny XD ! Good job it's a really good jam !
Cool jeu bravo !
